Saidai-ji: Aizen Hall æ„›æŸ"å ‚

This is the hall dedicated to images of Aizen-myo-o, the god of love in Japanese Buddhism. Oddly, it seems that enlightenment can be attained through sexual desire or frustration. I'm not kidding. Myo, as opposed to other Buddhist images, are usually symbolic of Shingon Buddhism and are more menacing in appearance than bosatsu or nyorai.
Saidai-ji is the "great western temple" as compared to it's eastern counterpart, Todai-ji. It was established 765 AD by Empress Shotoku. However, many of its structures have either burned down or been destroyed beginning in the 800's and then during the 1500's. Restorations date back to the Edo period. Saidai-ji is part of the Shingon Ritsu sect--Ritsu is one of the six main schools of Nara Buddhism.
Drugs vs Love experiment @ Sonar 2009

The social experiment at Sónar 2009:
On friday I went to the Sonar by Night with the left T-shirt, the SPEED one.
Result: more than 12 people offered me or asked me for pills or drugs.
On saturday I went to the Sonar by Night with the right T-shirt, the LOVE one (Love Parade 1997, Berlin).
Result: nobody offered or asked me for love or sex or similar ;)

El viernes fui al SonarNoche con la camiseta de la izquierda, la de SPEED.
Resultado: más de 12 personas me ofrecieron o pidieron pastillas o droga.
El sábado fui al SonarNoche con la camiseta de la derecha, la de LOVE (Love Parade 1997, Berlin).
Resultado: nadie me ofreció ni pidió amor o sexo o parecido ;)
